PMaaS and Organizational Performance, Then and Now

February 22, 2024 | by Jeannette Cabanis-Brewin

Agile, hybrid, AI, PMaaS: Take the research survey to help us develop a picture of the trends!

One of the most gratifying things about working for the same organization for decades—something I’d never thought would be possible, but here I am, 24 years later—is that it gives you the ability to see trends and patterns that a shorter time-box would obscure.

One of the things that has become apparent about PM Solutions is that we have had an almost uncanny ability to predict important shifts in project management practices years before they become commonly accepted. Sometimes this has worked in our favor—sometimes it’s merely been frustrating.

On the positive side of the ledger, there’s Project Management as a Service (PMaaS). Although we didn’t start using that term until 2020, our experience with providing project management talent goes way back and included, early on, virtual options that found a natural home in our mostly-distributed organizational chart.

In 2021, when our research study looked back at How We Thrived in 2020’s disruptions, we asked our study group if, and how, they had used PMaaS, and what effect it had on their organizational performance.  The results indicated that, for those organizations who used PMaaS, it contributed significantly to better-than-average performance on a number or measures. Take a look at the results here.

And then, to find out how PMaaS is trending in organizations, participate in our new research, slated to close tomorrow, February 23! Participants receive a full-data version of the report, which also covers the use of AI in project management and organizational results from using agile and hybrid methods.
