The PMO Symposium Is in Full Swing ...

... and PM Solutions is represented in Orlando by J. Kent Crawford (pictured below with a visitor to the booth), who gave a presentation this afternoon, along with Debbie Crawford and Johanna Mickel manning -- or maybe that should be "womanning"  -- our booth. The annual event is hosted by PMI's PMO Community of Practice, our partner in the PMO of the Year Award program.

Here are some of Debbie's impressions from the first day of the event: "The Symposium is fast-moving and filled with insight, experience, and curiosity!  This sold-out conference has attracted a very seasoned, high-level audience who appear to be energized with the workshops, paper-presentations, and networking experience.  Ian Frazier's keynote yesterday morning emphasizing the three critical components of project portfolio management - planning, enabling, and balancing - was right on target. One unique and thought-provoking experience has been Microsoft's  “Imagine” event soliciting participants to “imagine” a perfect PMO.

"The PMO Symposium is a high-powered conference crossing all industries with a commonality in their project management practices and PMOs.  It’s definitely a 'not to miss' event if you are leading a PMO! "

Tonight, the award ceremony for the 2011 PMO of the Year will showcase the achievements of Dell Services' Healthcare and Life Sciences PMO and put the spotlight on the finalists as well. Read more about thse companies in our interviews, published here over the past four weeks, or in the Award ebook here. Debbie Crawford notes that  many of the attendees she's met have voiced their desire to apply for the award next year. That's great, as we hope to keep increasing the number of organizations striving to bring home that crystal trophy.
