Announcing the 2012 PMO of the Year Semifinalists

Drumroll, please.
The PMO of the Year Award judges panel determined the top performers in our pool of applicants at the end of July after a three-week period of comparing and contrasting the entries on the nine dimensions of PMO performance cited in the award criteria:
- Demonstration of vision and business acumen in implementing new ideas, methods, or processes
- Meeting organizational challenges
- Positive impact on project success
- Positive impact on organizational success
- Realization of tangible business benefits
- Building a project management culture
- Effective use of resources
- Improved organizational PM maturity
- Improved project manager capability.
Each of these criteria was ranked 1 – 5 on a Likert scale by each judge and their findings tallied to give an overall score. Those scoring 4.01 or higher on the second round of judging were (in alpha order):

- T-Mobile Enterprise Program Office Seattle, WA USA – Beth O’Reilly, VP
- Transamerica Life Canada Project Management Office, Toronto, ON Canada – Andreas Zapetal, Assistant VP
- Verizon Wireless Marketing PMO, Basking Ridge NJ USA – Theo Bell, VP
- VSP Vision Care Enterprise Project Solutions, Rancho Cordova, CA USA – Karen Casey, VP
