PM College Introduces Interpersonal Skills Training Series to Help Project Managers with the Soft Skills
GLEN MILLS, Pa. (November 4, 2009) — While even seasoned professionals struggle with the fundamental interpersonal skills that make a project successful, the bulk of project management training available focuses on improving technical skills and execution. PM College recognizes this need and has launched a series of customizable corporate training courses that help project managers master the key interpersonal skills that lead to improved project performance.
PM College’s “Interpersonal Skills Series” includes three onsite courses covering the vital soft skills necessary to lead projects and interact well with stakeholders at all levels. All courses qualify for professional development units and continuing education credits. Course content is aligned to the Project Management Institute’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), Fourth Edition. The series includes:
- Building and Sustaining Project Relationships: How to create, manage and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and team members.
- Problem Solved! Decisive Project Management: How to solve problems faster and more effectively to overcome common obstacles faced during all phases of a project.
- Effective Project Communications: Hands-on strategies for tactfully dealing with conflicts and communicating project value.
“Project managers need more than just solid technical capability. They need the tact to be able to deal with people interactions and the reasoning to make the right project decisions,” said Joni Brown-Irons, Managing Director for PM College. “These new courses emphasize the art of project management, which often takes a backseat to the science. Companies excel in project execution when they address both.”
