Business Development Director, PM Solutions

The primary focus of this position is to develop new business opportunities and bring them to closure. As an individual contributor, this position will be expected to maintain a strong sales pipeline and be accountable for achieving sales quota.  Services to be positioned include management consulting and project/program delivery (resources)


  • Generate and develop both inbound and outbound new business opportunities.

  • Work directly with PM Solutions Account Executives to develop a strategy for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within existing accounts.

  • Maintain a strong pipeline and actively manage opportunities throughout the entire sales process, leveraging the appropriate subject matter experts as needed to help close a sale.

  • Fluently articulate PM Solution’s core competencies and solutions to new clients relative to customer business needs.

  • Focus on penetrating and generating opportunities at companies within targeted regional metros.

  • Understand and communicate a prospective client’s requirements, business needs, and expectations to the internal team that supports the sales pursuit (Account Executive, EVP, Operations, Recruitment, Finance, etc.).

  • Create and be accountable for all new business proposals, statements of work, and RFP responses.

  • Work with marketing to support and follow-up on marketing campaigns and tradeshows.

  • 100% utilization of CRM tool to capture pipeline information, sales contacts, communications, and other proprietary client insight and interactions.

  • Represent PM Solutions at select trade shows and conferences.

  • Participate in appropriate PMI Chapter activities and leading business professional associations to network and broaden geographic contacts.

Requisite Skill & Knowledge Attributes:

  • Proven experience in consultative selling

  • History of successfully selling large account services to the executive level

  • Track record of consistently meeting sales quota

  • Comfortable and confident articulating the value of PM Solutions services to senior management and C-level executives

  • Possess strong tenacity, perseverance, and persuasion skills

  • Appropriate level of Project Management technical understanding

  • Working knowledge of strongly preferred

  • Positive, upbeat and high-energy work style

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+​ years of business to business (b2b) sales experience within a services industry.​
  • Proven success in business development of a consulting practice.​
  • Broad knowledge of consulting company operations.​
