Doing Good, and Doing It Amazingly Well: Catholic Health Initiatives Presentation at the Gartner Summit

May 21, 2013 | by J. Kent Crawford

CHI's professional development system and career pathing are top notch.

This afternoon, I was pleased to sit in on the Gartner Summit presentation of John Kocon, from Catholic Health Initiatives. CHI, you may know, was a finalist in the 2012 PMO of the Year Award competition. (Their PMO was highlighted previously on this blog, as well as in the 2012 PMO of the Year ebook.) I've never seen a stronger case for focusing on developing project management personnel as a path towards serving the strategy execution needs of the entire enterprise. CHI's professional development system and career pathing are top notch, and underscore the wisdom of the old saw "people do projects."

Congratulations, John and Catholic Health Initiatives, for a great presentation, a well-deserved honor in the PMO of the Year competition, and for continuing to do great work in an important and necessary field.
